three eggs

... from 3 different vendors. the top yolk is a standard Dominick's non-organic. the lower right is a yolk from TJ's farm, where we've been getting eggs for a while.

but the lower left yolk is from a new place we're trying, Meadow Heaven in Sheffield, IL. we haven't tasted them yet (and this particular breakfast won't help because all the eggs pictured will end up in it), but we're excited about the yolk color.

I concur - I've been getting free range cage free eggs at Trader Joes for about $2.90 a dozen, and they are about this dark.

Joe - I will have to check visually as those are the ones I got yesterday. On Saturday I'll pick up the 2 others from the farmers market. Mint Creak (who has really great grass fed & finished beef/lamb) apparently does eggs as well. And the Meadow place. Perhaps Steve will put up more pix with colors. Else - i'll let you know. :)

I think next spring you should put a couple chickens in your backyard.
